Desktop Security Audit Protocols
Want to see how secure your Windows 2000 Pro and Windows XP Pro desktop machines are? Follow the HSC audit protocol and get a headstart in systematically improving desktop security in your nonprofit.
CompuMentor's technology experts worked with nonprofits and consultants to design this audit which looks at the most critical settings on your desktop machines. We wrote up clear step-by-step instructions so just about anyone can follow and fill out the audit. Understanding where you're vulnerable is the first step to securing your systems and saving your nonprofit time and money. This audit is the one covered by HSC's Windows Desktop Security Audit Training below. We cover how to work with your organization to prepare for the audit, the steps to take.
Training Curricula:
Use our curricula to host a training for nonprofit techies, accidental techies, and technology consultants; and for nonprofit managers. There are two trainings. They are designed to run in tandem to reach the two audiences needed for a successful Desktop Security Audit. CompuMentor ran these trainings in early 2006 with over 40 organizations.
The first training, HSC's Windows Desktop Security Audit, focuses on the mechanics of planning and implementing an audit. This one is designed for people with some hands-on technical skills and responsibilities. The training covers exactly how to perform the CompuMentor Desktop Security Audit and includes how to work with a nonprofit you are not employed by.
