Working with partners around the globe, we’re actively expanding these resources outside the US. New initiatives at TechSoup include a program (funded by the Gates Foundation) to help public libraries better maintain their public access computers and an expanded Green IT program that aims to build the market for refurbished computers and other environmentally appropriate solutions. Founded in 1987 (as CompuMentor), we currently have more than 150 staff members and an annual budget of about $18 million.
Responsibilities:
The Partner Sourcing Manager will have responsibility for researching, identifying, evaluating and selecting TechSoup country partners, working with other members of the TechSoup Global team. Below are the specific job duties:
You will be a web application developer for TechSoup.org, which distributes donated and discounted products to nonprofits and international NGOs. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Conduct / gather market research for target countries
- Organize country teams leveraging globally distributed staff, donor partners and regional/functional specialists
- Develop prospect lists for target countries
- Create, maintain and deliver educational materials to explain program to prospects
- Manage evaluation process, through applications, supporting documentation, reference checks, interviews and other data sources
- Analyze finalists on the basis of mission, organizational and technical capacity, and financial sustainability
- Rank applicants and present final recommendations
Depending on the candidate’s experience level, the role could also be broadened to encompass other functions such as strategy, financial, legal standards, etc.
Required skills and experience:
- Strong leadership skills and track record
- International / multicultural experience required
- Combination of private sector and nonprofit experience desirable
- Multiple languages very helpful
- Self motivated individual who works well with teams
- BA / BS required, MBA preferred
